Common questions

Getting back to the story

How do I continue?

Open the same tape from the shelf and tap Continue or Resume Tape in its menu. Progress is saved on this device. Play from the start asks before replacing that tape’s saved progress in version 1.0.

Can I play without internet?

Yes. The stories, artwork, and audio are included in the app. You can play after installation without a connection. Sending feedback by email needs a working mail service.

How do I change sound or the screen effect?

Open a tape’s menu. It has controls for sound, music, effects, scanlines, and (in version 1.0) reading text size. The app remembers these choices on the device.

Where are my saves?

Saves stay on the device. Rewind Hollow has no account or in-app cloud sync. If you replace a phone or remove the app, check your iPhone backup settings before relying on a save later.

Which stories are included?

Channel 13, Homeroom: Last Bell, Silt: The Last Waltz, Marigold: What We Carry, Think Tank, Low Places, Driftless: The Night Road, Porchlight, Bellwether: The Other Bell, and Kermis: Keep a Light. Each tape keeps its own progress.

What if an illustrated puzzle is difficult?

Think Tank includes hints and a skip route, so you can continue through the story. If a picture target does not respond, tell us the episode, scene, and what you tapped.

A tape stopped or will not load

Version 1.0 attempts to recover interrupted readers from an on-device save. Use Try again if a recovery screen appears. If it happens repeatedly, return to the shelf and contact support. If you see a storage warning, free space before closing the app. Avoid deleting the app or clearing browser storage as a first troubleshooting step.

Do I need to share statistics or crash reports?

No. Version 1.0 has separate, optional controls in Privacy, initially off. You can play with both off. Privacy also has Copy technical information for an editable support email.

Will a new web link keep my progress?

Progress belongs to the browser and exact website origin. Keep the same link, browser, and device. A different domain does not automatically inherit your saves. Use the original link if you are partway through a playtest.
