REWIND HOLLOW.

Privacy · iPhone app and website

Your story stays yours.

This policy covers Rewind Hollow (formerly Late Fees) for iPhone, our browser playtests, this website, and optional support contact. Contact Numentio at latefees@numentio.com. Version 1.0 adds the optional sharing described below; earlier 0.1 builds have no third-party analytics SDK.

What stays on your device

Your saved games, inventory, notebook text, clues, checkpoints, audio/display settings, and review-request timing stay on your device. Stories and media are bundled in the iPhone app and work offline. There is no Rewind Hollow account or in-app cloud save service. The iPhone app keeps a local recovery copy of progress.

Browser playtests use storage belonging to that browser and website address. Keep using the same link and browser to retain progress. Private browsing, clearing site data, switching domains, or deleting the app can remove access to a save. Device and browser backups are managed by your backup provider.

Optional play statistics

In version 1.0, Share play statistics is off until you enable it in Privacy. If enabled, Google Analytics for Firebase receives story and scene IDs, choice numbers, episode and ending events, puzzle interactions, and an app-instance identifier. It also processes app/device and engagement information and may derive general location from your connection. We do not request GPS access. We use this information to understand which stories people finish and where the app needs improvement.

We do not send saved-game contents, notebook text, typed puzzle answers, or your name or email with gameplay events. We disable advertising identifiers and advertising consent. There are no ads, sale of personal data, or tracking across other companies’ apps and websites.

Optional crash reports

Share crash reports is also off until you enable it. Firebase Crashlytics then receives crash stack traces, fixed diagnostic codes, installation identifiers, app/device information, and validated story/scene IDs when available. If play statistics are also enabled, reports may include recent gameplay event IDs. We use these reports to diagnose failures and improve reliability.

Crash reports are separate from your saved stories. Turning crash sharing off takes full effect on the next launch; we delete queued unsent reports when it is off. Turning statistics off stops collection and resets the local Analytics identifier. Neither switch deletes information already received by Google. Both can stay off without limiting play.

Providers, retention, and requests

Google processes optional statistics and diagnostics through Firebase, which may involve processing outside your country. See Firebase privacy and security and Google’s privacy policy. Provider retention and deletion settings apply to the data it receives.

For access or deletion requests, email latefees@numentio.com. Privacy in the app offers a copyable statistics identifier when one is available; include it to help us locate Analytics records. We do not attach your identity to these records, so we may need information to locate them. We have no remote access to your saved games. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, withdraw consent, and complain to your data protection authority.

Support and Apple services

Send feedback opens your email app with a subject and, in version 1.0, editable app/build and basic device information. You decide whether to send and what to include. We receive your email address, message, and normal email headers and keep correspondence as needed to respond and follow up, subject to applicable legal obligations. Your mail provider processes the message under its own policy.

Apple handles app installation, prerelease testing, and App Store rating and review requests under its own terms and privacy practices. Numentio may receive feedback and diagnostics Apple makes available to developers.

Website and browser playtests

Our informational pages contain no forms, analytics scripts, or cookies. Our browser reader saves progress and settings locally and does not include Firebase. The host still receives technical requests, including IP addresses and requested pages, and may retain logs or set its own cookies under its configuration.

Updates

We will revise this page when our practices change. Contact latefees@numentio.com with questions.
